2018 is the 8th year of the National Poetry Recitation Contest, Armenia, a nationwide initiative that helps school students (forms 7-12) to improve their English, enhance critical thinking, and build self-confidence and public-speaking skills.  In 2017, we had 453 contestants from 117 schools--huge growth since the contest launched in 2010 with fewer than 100 students. This year our goal is to involve 170 schools all over Armenia--nearly 700 students from 10 marzes.  Be part of a nationwide event that supports engaged participants, makes local heroes of  hard-working teachers and students, and ensures Armenia's brightest and best are a focus for national pride.

This year's regional competitions will be held in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar, Hrazdan, Artashat, Yerevan, Yeghegnadzor, Sisian, Goris and Kapan in early 2018. With your help, we can involve students from small schools in remote villages all over Armenia and provide 60 finalists with a chance to enhance their learning, build a powerful peer and mentor network, and shape their career ambitions through a memorable summer school experience.

The regional and national contests and the summer school will be funded solely through donations.  All students participate free of charge. This competition exists because donors like you know that Armenia's future depends on self-assured, well-educated young people who think clearly and can express themselves well in more than one language. This competition exists because you care about cultivating a love of words and creative thinking in committed learners. Thank you for supporting a love of poetry, a celebration of learning, and a new generation equipped to shape tomorrow's Armenia.
